Ashby Social Housing
DSA were appointed via a tender process to design a number of social housing properties over a number of sites. This particular site involved a small infill site to create 4No. bungalows with an emphasis on sustainability. This included, high level of insulations, grass roofs and solar panels formed part of the strategy.
17% of the construction budget was spent on local materials within 10miles of the site and a total of 93% within 20 miles. 57% of the workforce used was also local labour within 10 miles. The project was completed in December 2018 and has received a positive response.
The flagship scheme marks the completion of the first phase of the councils house building project following the handover of 17 homes in Coalville.
